Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch a compact flagship smartphone with the Galaxy S27 Pro, according to the latest rumors. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to receive several major upgrades, some of which have been long overdue.
A report on Naver suggests that the Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a 6.4-inch display, making it nearly as compact as the Apple iPhone 17 Pro. If accurate, this move indicates Samsung is following Apple’s lead by offering two compact models at different price points: the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Pro.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is rumored to include several enhancements over its predecessor, the Galaxy S26. These upgrades include a new camera sensor, a larger battery, and a slimmer design. Additionally, earlier reports claim the S27 Pro will inherit the privacy display from the Galaxy S26 Ultra ($1,049 on Amazon), which makes sensitive screen content unreadable to nearby onlookers. Unlike the standard Galaxy S27, the Pro model will reportedly ship globally with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip instead of Samsung’s Exynos processor.
As for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, it is said to feature at least three major improvements. First, Samsung is expected to introduce a redesigned camera module. Second, the cameras will be upgraded, with rumors pointing to a 200-megapixel main camera equipped with a new sensor and variable aperture. The 10 MP telephoto camera with triple zoom may be replaced by digital zoom technology. Third, the Ultra model is likely to include a larger battery, surpassing the 5,000 mAh capacity of the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Despite these upgrades, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to be lighter than its 214-gram predecessor while maintaining nearly the same thickness
