OneXPlayer Super X Pro Launches With 192GB RAM, Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and 120Hz AMOLED Display

One-Netbook has unveiled the OneXPlayer Super X Pro, an upgraded 2-in-1 gaming device powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor. It features a 2.8K 120Hz AMOLED display, an 85Wh battery, and up to 192GB of RAM, with up to 160GB assignable as video memory (VRAM).

The device also supports up to 120W processor power with optional liquid cooling, 240W charging, dual USB4 ports, and expandable Mini SSD storage. However, One-Netbook has yet to announce its pricing or exact release date.

OneXPlayer Super X Pro Upgrades to AMD’s New Processor

The most significant change in the OneXPlayer Super X Pro is its adoption of AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor, based on the Gorgon Halo architecture. The OneXPlayer Super X was originally powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which is also featured in Asus ROG Flow Z13.

The new processor platform also brings the new Radeon 8065S integrated graphics card, which supersedes the Radeon 8060S of the Strix Halo platform. At the same time, however, gains in the performance seem to be relatively low.

The results from the benchmark show that the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 only offers a slight performance boost in comparison to the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. Similarly, the Radeon 8065S appears to be a relatively small revision of the Radeon 8060S rather than a major graphics upgrade.

Even with those minor enhancements in performance, the newer platform does offer one big benefit: more memory capacity, which may make it attractive to users who are using intensive applications.

Up to 192GB RAM with 160GB VRAM

The OneXPlayer Super X Pro supports up to 192GB of unified memory LPDDR5X-8533. The users can dedicated up to 160GB of this memory to video memory (VRAM), which is significantly larger than its predecessor.

Compare that with the original OneXPlayer Super X which had 96GB of memory dedicated as VRAM. The new model boosts that up to 160GB, which could help with workloads that need lots of graphics memory.

This expanded memory capacity could be particularly useful for AI applications, local AI model experimentation, content creation, and other memory-intensive tasks. As for actual performance, it will be subject to the software used, workloads and memory allocation options.

The system’s unified memory architecture allows the processor and integrated graphics to share available memory, making the large capacity especially relevant for applications that cannot easily fit within the VRAM limits of conventional gaming hardware.

120Hz AMOLED Display and 85Wh Battery

The OneXPlayer Super X Pro has the same display and battery life as the original OneXPlayer. It has 2.8K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate (VRR) support.

The high-resolution panel promises to render high-quality graphics and the 120Hz refresh rate will help to ensure smooth visuals whether you’re playing games or using it for normal viewing. VRR support may also be used to adjust the refresh rate of the display based on the frames per second (fps) rate.

It is powered by an 85Wh battery with the possibility to charge the device at up to 240W. The specifications indicate that the system will have a large battery capacity for a portable gaming console, but the actual battery life will vary depending on the conditions.

One-Netbook is keeping the optional liquid cooled system that was added to the original model as well. The OneXPlayer Super X Pro can pull up to 120W of power from this accessory to help maintain performance in heavy workloads, thanks to the Gorgon Halo processor that it’s equipped with.

Connectivity and Storage Expansion

Other features include dual USB4 connectivity and support for Mini SSD expansion. These options offer extra choices for connecting compatible peripherals and increase storage capacity.

However, the OneXPlayer Super X Pro still lacks an OCuLink connection, which some users prefer for connecting compatible external graphics solutions. This might be a disappointment to users who are looking for more graphics capabilities via an external GPU configuration.

OneXPlayer Super X Pro Release Date and Pricing

One-Netbook says the OneXPlayer Super X Pro will be available soon, but the company has not yet confirmed an exact release date or official pricing.

The OneXPlayer Super X Pro is an updated version of the original device, featuring a new processor, a larger amount of memory, a high refresh rate AMOLED screen, and the possibility of liquid cooling. However, not a huge leap in graphics or CPU power has made for a big improvement in games and its usefulness may lie more in the expansion of memory capacity.
