Lenovo has introduced the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4, a new 16-inch laptop designed for global markets. Powered by AMD Zen 5 processors and offering up to 64 GB of RAM, this model also includes a 120 Hz VRR display with 500 nits peak brightness and a battery capacity of up to 64 Wh.

Recently, Lenovo launched more affordable versions of the ThinkPad E16 Gen 3, but the Gen 4 model is expected to deliver better performance. It should outperform the Arrow Lake U-based ThinkPad E16 Gen 3, which was reviewed nearly a year ago and is currently priced at $999 on Amazon.
While Lunar Lake models are not yet available in North America, Lenovo has listed the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 with AMD processors on its PSREF website. This model features Krackan Point and Gorgon Point processors, paired with Radeon 820M, 840M, and 860M graphics. Below are the processor and GPU configurations:
- Ryzen AI 5 330: 4 cores, 8 threads, Radeon 820M
- Ryzen AI 5 Pro 340: 6 cores, 12 threads, Radeon 840M
- Ryzen AI 5 430: 4 cores, 8 threads, Radeon 840M
- Ryzen AI 5 435: 6 cores, 12 threads, Radeon 840M

- Ryzen AI 7 445: 6 cores, 12 threads, Radeon 840M
- Ryzen AI 7 450: 8 cores, 16 threads, Radeon 860M

Unfortunately, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 does not include a discrete GPU option, despite its compact dimensions of 356 x 249 mm and a starting weight of 1.63 kg. However, it does support dual M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs and features two SODIMM slots for up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. Battery options include 48 Wh or 64 Wh capacities.
Lenovo plans to offer the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 with several IPS display options, including:
