Huawei has officially unveiled the Huawei MatePad Pro Max. It is a newly designed 13.2 inch OLED tablet that is as thin as 4.7mm, thinner than the 13 inch iPad Pro. The launch is set for May 7, 2026.

Huawei is preparing to launch a relatively large-scale event where they can expect to showcase new products. One of them is the MatePad Pro Max, and only hours before the full unveiling, the company has teased the thin tablet with a video, which gives a quick preview of the major features.
This video (attached at the end) has already confirmed that the Huawei MatePad Pro Max will have a 13.2 inch OLED display, but the brand has not said if this is a tandem OLED display or not. Non-tandem would be a downgrade from the non-Max 12.2 variant of the tablet, but the company could make it up with the device’s thin design.
Indeed, the Huawei MatePad Pro Max is as thin as 4.7mm, thinner than the non-Max model and even thinner than the Apple iPad Pro M5 (13-inches). The shortest measurement of Apple’s highest-end 13” tablet is 5.1mm (256GB WiFi, curr. $1,182.81 on Amazon).
The tablet is not only light in weight, as Huawei has said in the video, but it also doesn’t reveal the precise weight of the MatePad Pro Max. The company has disclosed, however, that the display will have thin bezels of 3.35mm and the top bezel is seen as being able to cover the front camera seamlessly.
Additional info has been confirmed in the video, with support for the Glide keyboard offering PC level productivity, and a dual-camera system on the back. The processor will be a Kirin 9 series from the top and the tablet will also support 66W fast charging, says Digital Chat Station, which is also a reliable leaker.
The launch date is coming up very soon – May 07, 2026. So, it’s not like there’s a lot to learn to learn about this thin tablet.
