Xiaomi has launched the Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro 4G in India, expanding its entry-level lineup. Both models feature 120Hz high-refresh-rate displays and are powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset. The Pro version stands out with a massive 6,300mAh battery and an industry-leading software promise: 4 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches, running on HyperOS 3. Prices start at INR 10,499 (~$112), making the A7 Pro 4G a strong contender for budget-conscious buyers seeking long-term value.
After introducing the Redmi A7 5G, Xiaomi has now unveiled the 4G variants, offering large IPS LCD screens. The Redmi A7 comes with a 6.88-inch display, while the A7 Pro 4G features a slightly larger 6.9-inch panel, both with 800 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood, both devices are equipped with the Unisoc T7250 chipset and LPDDR4X RAM. The Redmi A7 offers 3GB of RAM, while the Pro model gets 4GB. Both come with 64GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via a dedicated microSD slot.
Battery life is another highlight. The Redmi A7 packs a 5,200mAh battery, while the A7 Pro 4G steps it up with a 6,300mAh cell. Both support 15W wired charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging. Additional features include an IP52 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For cameras, both models feature a 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera. While basic, these specs are reasonable for the price range.
The key difference lies in software. The Redmi A7 runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2, with 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches. The A7 Pro, on the other hand, ships with Android 16-based HyperOS 3, offering 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security support—an impressive commitment for an entry-level device.
Pricing starts at INR 10,499 ($112) for the Redmi A7 4G, available in Black and Sky Blue. The Redmi A7 Pro 4G is priced at INR 11,499 ($123) and comes in Black and Sunset Orange. Sales begin on April 24.
