Xiaomi has finally released its latest compact tablet in Europe. The Redmi 2 9.7 is also on sale in Australia and Turkey, and will likely roll out with cellular connectivity as well.
There are a couple of weeks since Xiaomi introduced Redmi Pad 2 9.7 in any form. In a quick recap, the tablet was introduced first in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in a smaller sleek design than the Redmi Pad 2 (currently $175 on Amazon) with optional 4G connectivity. Xiaomi shortly confirmed that both variants are to be launched globally.
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 is now available in two colours and two capacities in Europe. It is the same in Australia and Turkey, as well. But Xiaomi is yet to sell the 4G-enabled tablet in these countries. Rather, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 is now only available in its Wi-Fi-only edition.
Besides, Xiaomi has equipped its smartphone with a 7,600mAh battery and Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor and 9.7-inch IPS display. The latter has a resolution of 2,048 x 1,280 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio, 600 nit peak brightness and a refresh rate of 120 Hz as a reference. Moreover, Xiaomi pre-installs HyperOS 3 runnning Android 16.
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 starts at €159.99 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Xiaomi is also currently selling the phone for €20 more with double the storage, but with the same RAM. In the meantime, the new tablet is available at AUD 299 in Australia and TRY 7,299 in Turkey (with a case). For more information please visit Xiaomi’s website.
