WhatsApp has been quite busy lately, constantly rolling out new features. This trend is set to continue in the future. Today, a fresh beta version of the app has been unveiled for Android (2.24.17.19), introducing support, for chat themes.
As depicted in the image below, this feature is still in its early stages of development. Is on its way. It will enable users to select a chat theme that alters message colors and chat wallpapers.
If you’re familiar with Facebook Messenger, you’ll have an idea of what to expect since that platform has had chat themes for quite some time now. WhatsApp is simply catching up in this aspect, among others.
To try out beta features on Android, you must be on the beta track, which can be accessed through its Play Store listing. Keep in mind that enrollment isn’t always open.
Considering the timeline for new WhatsApp features to transition from beta to version, we anticipate that chat themes will be accessible to all users by the end of this year.
