The Suunto Race 3S smartwatch arrives with upgraded features to make it even better for trail running, including a brighter 2000-nit AMOLED display, more durable sapphire crystal glass, and longer runtimes with GPS navigation using free topo maps.
The Suunto Race 3S has arrived as an upgrade to the 2023 Suunto Race smartwatch (sold here on Amazon) for trail running enthusiasts looking for a durable, multi-day smartwatch. The brighter 2000-nit, 1.32-inch (33.5 mm) AMOLED display resolution 466 x 466 is protected by a 45 mm (1.77 in.) sapphire glass and titanium bezel. It operates on a silicon-carbon anode lithium-ion battery that provides up to 38 hours of battery life with dual-band GPS navigation or up to 12 days of battery life in normal timekeeping mode.
An improved Apollo 510 processor is paired with 64 GB of storage for offline music, race data and maps. The Race 3S ships with access to free topographical maps from around the world and helps save owners time and money by not having to purchase and download maps for their runs. Like Garmin smartwatches such as the Fenix 9 Pro (sold here on Amazon), there is also free offline global maps for this.
The smartwatch features more than one hundred sports modes, and thanks to Suunto Coach AI, it offers interval training and adaptive guidance. The watch can be used to help schedule runs based on the route, weather and desired pace, and it will provide alerts during runs for upcoming slopes.
It also features an upgraded set of 6 LEDs and 4 photodetectors that enable continuous, all-day activity, sleep and stress monitoring with heart monitoring. Additionally there is an optional Suunto heart rate chest strap available to be connected for more accurate heart rate measurements. The touchscreen, crown and two side buttons control watch features and settings.
The dual-band GPS smartwatch weighs just 37 g (1.30 oz.) and is 11 mm (0.43 in.) thick. A 22 mm (0.87 in.) silicone wrist strap (single or dual colour) secures the case and it is water-resistant to 5 ATM.
The Suunto Race 3S smartwatch costs $499 and is expected to go on sale in China and EMEA from October 15, 2026, and in North America and APAC from October 29, 2026, available from the Suunto website and the Suunto store on Amazon.
