Seiko is expanding its Astron Nexter lineup with four new GPS solar watches that automatically adjust to the correct time anywhere in the world. The collection includes two feature-packed models with complications and sub-dials, and two minimalist designs—all housed in lightweight titanium cases.

Overview of the New Models
Seiko has introduced four new watches: the HAC001, HAC002, HAD001, and HAD002. These models feature deep blue dials, chapter rings, and durable Pure Titanium cases with DiaShield coating. Powered by solar energy, they connect to multiple satellites to automatically set the time and timezone. Additionally, they offer radio wave correction for major global regions.
HAD001: Feature-Rich Chronograph

The HAD001 is the most complex of the lineup, featuring a three-register chronograph layout and an outer chapter ring that displays world time for 25 cities. It runs on the Caliber 8B92, offering a 1/5-second stopwatch, a 24-hour hand, and a fully automatic calendar valid through 2099. Despite its functionality, the watch remains slim at 10.6mm thick and lightweight at 90g, thanks to its titanium construction. Other highlights include a sapphire crystal with Super Clear Coating, LumiBrite on the hands and indices, and 10ATM water resistance.
HAD002: Balanced Functionality
The HAD002 offers a more streamlined design with two sub-dials: one for tracking a second time zone and another for a retrograde day-of-the-week indicator. Powered by the Caliber 8B63, it includes a dual-time display and a date window at 3 o’clock. Unlike the HAD001, its chapter ring shows UTC offsets instead of city codes. It supports radio signal reception in the US, UK, Japan, China, and Germany. Slightly heavier at 93g, it retains the titanium build, sapphire glass, and 10ATM water resistance.
GPS/Radio-Controlled Timekeeping
Both HAD models feature an inner bezel with lettered markers, which are part of the GPS and radio-controlled timekeeping system. When syncing with satellites or atomic clock signals, the second hand temporarily points to these markers to indicate reception status and signal strength.
HAC001 and HAC002: Minimalist Designs
The HAC001 and HAC002 take a simpler approach, focusing on time and date functions. Powered by the Caliber 7B62, they still offer automatic time correction via radio signals and a perpetual calendar. Both models feature octagonal cases, with the HAC001 measuring 39.6mm wide (45.4mm lug-to-lug) and the HAC002 coming in at a more compact 36mm width. Like the HAD models, they include an inner bezel with lettered markings for the radio-controlled system.
Solar-Powered Efficiency
All four watches are solar-powered, with Seiko claiming up to 9 months of operation on a full charge when stored in the dark, or up to 2 years in power-saving mode.
Pricing & Availability
The new Astron Nexter models will launch in Japan in April. Prices start at 176,000 yen ($1,107) for the HAD001, while the HAD002, HAC001, and HAC002 are priced at 165,000 yen ($1,038). Global availability and pricing details are yet to be announced.
