One UI 7 will bring Google’s Identity Check feature to all Galaxy devices

The One UI 7 beta program started at Samsung in December 2024 while introducing the Identity Check feature for Galaxy devices. All Galaxy devices that support One UI 7 will receive the Identity Check feature when this major update becomes available.

The Identity Check feature received its official announcement from Google to enhance Android device security. The Identity Check feature made its debut with the Android 15-based One UI 7 Beta update for Galaxy devices.

Identity Check enhances device protection by blocking unauthorized access to password settings and account information even when thieves obtain your device passcode. A thief cannot modify these settings without completing biometric authentication through fingerprint or face recognition.

The new Galaxy S25 which operates Android 15 with One UI 7 includes this strengthened security feature since its stable version launch. Beta testers of Galaxy S24 receive access to this feature despite it being initially reserved for Galaxy S25 users. Google has announced that Identity Check functionality will arrive for all Galaxy devices running One UI 7.

Google remains unclear about whether the feature will arrive in the One UI 7.0 update or if it will be accessible for One UI 7 devices currently running an older One UI version. Research indicates that these devices will receive this feature through their One UI 7 update.

The protection feature from Identity Check will be available to Samsung Galaxy users within the next few weeks. The new security feature will become available exclusively on Samsung Android smartphones at this time.

One UI 7 Stable was already introduced with the Galaxy S25 series and now, Samsung is working to make this stable version available for older devices. It is expected that Samsung will start rolling out stable updates in early February 2025.
