OpenAI launched it new ChatGPT 40 Omni model in may which sent the app’s revenue flying. Following the model’s release, this mobile version of OpenAI chatbot is yet to witness its biggest month of revenue as $28million revenue was generated from the app in July both on App Store and Google Play. This information is according to app intelligence firm Appfigures.
Note that the revenue($28 million) includes the amount OpenAI keeps as profit after paying Apple and Google’s in App purchase fees. Also the firm’s provides that Apple’s App Store is responsible for 83% of the app’s revenue (a growth of 20% since June).
Excluding the App Store fees, the ChatGPT rolled in $39.9 million dollars in July.
with the help of the GPT 40, the improvements in ChatGPT includes the power to handle text, speech and also video. Not only that, but it also provides a faster response. And also the chatbot has a human-like interaction features which include it’s new advanced voice mode and ability to get interrupted.
With this new technology, the demand for ChatGPT has been on the increase and also the app revenue by 40% in May. And since then the growth and revenue has continued to grow rapidly.
With the revenue generated by the app in July, Appfigures analysis proved that ChatGPT gained an addition of 2 millions new paying subscribers which on its own is another new record for the app.
