The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, a brand new mid-range smartphone that will be available in three stylish colors, is set to hit the market soon. Motorola is showing the Edge 70 Pro+ in advance on a teaser website.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is expected to be released soon, as the Motorola has already captured the first teases with the hashtag #MotorolaEdge 70 Pro+ on X and the Indian online store Flipkart. These are already evidence of the fact that the design is virtually the same as that of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ will be available in red or turquoise, featuring a fabric finish, and brown, featuring a wood-look back.
The display seems to be a bit curved to the left and right; the selfie camera is in a punch hole. There are three cameras and an LED flash in the square camera module at the back. The label around the flash is already showing that a 12 mm ultra wide-angle camera and an 81 mm telephoto camera are already installed, meaning that the telephoto camera enables a 3.5x optical zoom effect from the main camera.

A teaser image shows that the camera app supports the 35 mm equivalent focal lengths of 24 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm and 85 mm, but at least with 35 mm and 50 mm, the smartphone has to resort to digital zoom. You can see one of the example photos shared and it’s interesting how poor the bokeh simulation is. Motorola doesn’t simulate a more or less realistic drop in sharpness, taking the distance of objects into account, but only the subject and bokeh maxima.

Not even the subject edges are identified properly. If the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ truly performs so subpar in portrait mode, then it’s best if it’s not used. According to Motorola, the Edge 70 Pro+ will be on the market “soon”, but no further details on price, launch date or features are yet known.
