HUAWEI has unveiled the HUAWEI nova 16s Pro in the Philippines, and pre-orders open on October 30. Specifically, the Pro pairs a 200MP main camera with True-to-Color cameras. Furthermore, its selfie zoom is one HUAWEI calls an industry first.
Key Takeaways
- The Pro has a 200MP RYYB main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor.
- Its selfie zoom spans 0.8x to 5x, a claimed industry first.
- Pre-orders open October 30, with a PHP5,000 early discount.
Key Details & Core Impact
The front True-to-Color Camera uses a 1.5MP multispectral sensor to detect ambient colour temperatures. Furthermore, HUAWEI says it improves colour accuracy by 120 percent versus the nova 14, based on lab data. Meanwhile, the 50MP Ultra Portrait Camera handles the selfie zoom, covering group shots at 0.8x and close-ups at 5x.
On the back, a dedicated Rear True-to-Color Camera improves colour accuracy across the other rear lenses. Additionally, the phone reaches 40 percent charge in 15 minutes with 100W charging. Consequently, the Pro targets creators who shoot, edit, and post all day without hunting for a charger.
Context & Background
HUAWEI positions the nova line for young creators who love to share. Therefore, the AI tools matter here too. Specifically, AI Composition guides framing, while AI Move, AI Remove, and AI De-Glare clean up shots. Notably, the series runs EMUI 16 with the Celia AI Assistant, and it supports cross-OS file transfer with Apple devices.
For durability, the Pro uses an aerospace-grade aluminium mid-frame and Kunlun Glass. Furthermore, the body measures 7.1mm thin and weighs 218g, with a fingerprint-free Frosted AG Glass back. Meanwhile, colours are Breathing Crystal, Isle Blue, and Starry Black for the Pro.
Industry Reaction & Consumer Next Steps
For buyers in the Philippines, the maths is clear. Specifically, the nova 16s costs PHP29,999 on promo, while the Pro costs PHP39,999. Additionally, every pre-order includes a gift bundle worth up to PHP14,997. Furthermore, full details appear in Gadgets Magazine’s report on the nova 16s pre-orders.
