Xiaomi has announced the global launch of a new budget smartphone, the Poco M8s, which offers impressive features for its price. Despite costing under $200, the device comes with up to 256 GB of storage, a 144 Hz display, and a 50 MP camera.
This year, Xiaomi has been busy releasing multiple smartphones, with more on the horizon. Last month, it launched the Redmi A7 Pro for around $100. Next, the company plans to release the Redmi K90 Max on April 21, powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset.

Quietly, Xiaomi has also confirmed the arrival of a new Poco M8 series device. Earlier this year, the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro debuted together. Now, the lineup expands with the Poco M8s, which features a larger 6.9-inch display and measures 169.5 x 80.4 x 8.4 mm.
Essentially, the Poco M8s is a rebranded version of the Redmi 15, currently priced at $199 on Amazon. It shares similar specs, including a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, a massive 7,000 mAh battery, and a 50 MP primary camera. The phone also supports a 144 Hz refresh rate on its 1080p display and 33 W wired charging for its large battery.
Additionally, Xiaomi has certified the Poco M8s with IP64 dust and water resistance. While the company hasn’t announced an official release date, the device is already listed on Xiaomi’s global website. Early Bird pricing has been confirmed via social media:
- 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage: $189
- 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage: $219
With its competitive pricing and robust features, the Poco M8s is set to be a strong contender in the budget smartphone market.
