A new report reveals the compact-ish Galaxy S27 Pro flagship may share two cameras with the S27 Ultra, including a removal of the 3x telephoto lens and upgrades to a new 200MP primary sensor. The zoom cameras are expected to make (almost) all the difference between the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra.

A recent leak from a trusted tipster has revealed exciting details about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series, particularly the camera upgrades in the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
According to the report, both flagship models will feature the same new primary and ultra-wide camera sensors. The Galaxy S27 Pro, with its more compact 6.5-inch display, is expected to inherit the Ultra’s high-end main and ultra-wide cameras. However, the telephoto setup will set the two models apart.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to retain its 5x periscope zoom camera, enhanced by a 10x in-sensor crop. Meanwhile, the smaller Galaxy S27 Pro might opt for a 3-4x zoom camera, though Samsung could also equip it with a smaller, cost-effective 5x zoom sensor.
The Ultra’s camera system is reportedly undergoing a significant redesign. It will drop the dedicated 3x telephoto lens in favor of in-sensor cropping, resulting in a streamlined triple-camera setup. This includes a new 200MP primary sensor, likely the 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL HP6, which is also expected to feature in the S27 Pro.
Beyond the telephoto differences, the Galaxy S27 Pro and the larger 6.9-inch Galaxy S27 Ultra are expected to share many similarities. However, the S Pen will remain exclusive to the Ultra, continuing its tradition as a standout feature of Samsung’s top-tier flagship.
