The new Dynabook Protege X45W laptop is here, powered by AMD Ryzen 7 200 APUs. Having up to 8 cores, and 16 threads, the X45W 2-in-1 laptop is expected to deliver commendable performance at a relatively lower price.
Dynabook Americas, Inc., the gold standard for long-lasting, professional-grade laptops, today announced the new Portégé X45W, a premium 14-inch 2-in-1 convertible laptop designed to deliver productivity and flexibility across modern work environments
Protege X45W laptop can support up to AMD Ryzen 7 250 APU with 8 cores and 16 threads. The APU belongs to the family of aging old Hawk Point. Not surprisingly, the Zen 4 cores are already beginning to age, yet ought to be good enough in the multicore performance. There will also be lower-end models with the Ryzen 5 220 and the Ryzen 5 230.
Synthetic benchmarks show that the Ryzen 7 250 is in between the Core Ultra 7 155H and Core Ultra 5 225H in multicore tests. Simply put, daily work loads, and even certain moderately demanding jobs ought to be well within the reach of the system. Dedicated GPUs are not an option, and the Radeon 780M iGPU can only achieve decent frame rates in older games in moderate settings. There should also be a possibility of some lightweight video and photo work.
Protege X45W laptop has a 14-inch screen with size 1920 x 1200, which can be used as a touch screen. There is also the MPP 2.0 support, and the pressure sensitivity has 4,096 levels. That being said, Dynabook does not claim to have any other color reproduction or brightness performance.

Additional impressive qualities of the 2-in-1 laptop are spill-resistant backlit keyboard, MIL-STD-810H certification, FHD web camera, and an aluminum chassis that is supposed to be rather premium. The laptop will be sold with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage memory and additional upgrades can be made through BTO.
I/O has not been described in depth, but we do have that the laptop will include WiFi 7, Bluetooth, gigabit Ethernet, and some variety of HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, and microSD ports.
The details on pricing and availability are not clear at the time of writing.
