Luxury smartphone manufacturer Caviar has introduced a new Custom Zodiac iPhone Duo , allowing customers to customise their devices using precious metals, exotic leather, gemstones and other premium materials. There are 12 designs based on the zodiac signs, and for each sign it’s possible to have over a million different combinations of materials.
Unlike traditional limited-edition releases, the collection uses an online configurator that allows buyers to create personalised designs. The first step is to choose your zodiac sign, which loads a default design with a decorative zodiac wheel and a central medallion. They are then able to make adjustments to four different parts of the device: frame, back plate, zodiac circle and medallion.
Available materials include silver, yellow and rose gold, natural and black titanium, crocodile, python and calfskin leather, forged carbon, Swarovski crystals, gemstones, jewellery enamel and meteorite inlays. Caviar claims to have around 15 million combinations within the 12 zodiac designs.
The prices are in line with the luxury positioning of the collection. The standard Capricorn model, with a black titanium frame and forged carbon back, is believed to cost $14,800. The Aquarius edition, in silver and navy crocodile leather, is estimated to be priced at $18,615. Both prices are based on the 256GB iPhone Duo.
For comparison, Apple’s standard iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, making Caviar’s customised versions significantly more expensive than the original device.
A unique design code can be used to store customers’ favorite settings and then sent to a Caviar sales manager who will confirm the final price and place the order.
Caviar has also introduced additional quality checks for every customised device. Each iPhone Duo is tested with additional hinge and display testing before leaving the factory, as well as comes with a 12-month warranty. The steps are taken in response to reports of cracking in the inner display around the crease after the phone’s October 23 release. Each purchase also comes with a 999 gold plated decorative clasp with the customer’s constellation of choice.
The Caviar Custom Zodiac iPhone Duo , Zodiac collection follows Caviar’s September launch of its Black Edition smartphones, which include modified versions of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. The Black Edition is available in 19 numbered versions, and runs from $10,560 up to $13,990. Both editions have flat camera bumps on the back, unlike most other models, and lack a front camera to appeal to those looking for further privacy at corporate and government offices.
