YouTube recently announced a new troubleshooting tool called “The AI chatbot “support assistant” for content creators, who believe their accounts have been hacked.
The platform acknowledges the stress and harm one feels when an account has been compromised and this new feature basically seeks to offer an immediate course of action on how to reclaim a compromised account.
To begin with, the new support assistant is the initial level for creators who think their channel has been compromised. It will help them on how to lock down their Google sign in, given that YouTube accounts are related to Google.
Hence through locking the page, the creators get an opportunity to stop further unauthorized access. After this, the assistant will assist in undoing any tweaking that the hacker might have done on the social networking site. This could be changing of password, profile information or other unauthorized posting or upload.

Channels that are eligible for this service will find the option of recovering a hacked channel section in the YouTube Help Centre. The tool has an interactive user interface which takes the users through a series of questions with regard to the status of his/her channel so as to be guided accordingly on the necessary steps that are required to be undertaking in order to safeguard the channel.
Some of the activities that are common in this process include but are not limited to ownership confirmation, password reset and other related activities such as checking on the activity of the channel for any form of suspicious activities and or any form of contents that are prohibited or banned on the channel.
At the moment, this new tool is available only in English — to the extent that people visit the Help Centre with English interface.
Once more, some of the elements of the tool remain inaccessible to some of the users. Still, YouTube plans to extend the usage of this tool to YouTubers from all over the globe in the nearest future.
As for those who may not find the tool helpful or are unable to use it for a certain reason, YouTube has listed other ways one can seek help. Still, the creators have the option of contacting @TeamYouTube on X [formerly Twitter], where there is a support team to help with the recovery.
