Xiaomi has officially established the presence of Redmi Pad 2 Pro after being leaked a number of times in the recent past. Released on September 24 together with Xiaomi 15T series, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro will continue where Redmi Pad Pro left off but with some significant improvements.

It is now officially announced that Xiaomi has its next Redmi-branded tablet that went on sale earlier this year (currently costs 184 on Amazon) and now, it is called Redmi Pad 3. As a number of leaks and rumours suggested, Xiaomi has settled on giving the name of its next Redmi tablet Redmi Pad 2 Pro, as opposed to Redmi Pad Pro 2, which would be a direct replacement of the previous year model.
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro will go on a full global release on September 24 along with several other products such as the Xiaomi 15T, Xiaomi 15T Pro and the Watch S4 41 mm as the company representatives talk about in the video below. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has already provided some information regarding the Redmi Pad 2 Pro such as its 12.1-inch, 2.5K, and 120 Hz screen.
At a glance, such specifications suggest that Xiaomi is repackaging the display of the Redmi Pad Pro of the previous year, which is also IPS and can provide up to 600 nits of peak brightness. Redmi Pad 2 Pro has a significantly larger battery capacity (although) and it now comes to 12,000 mAh. It is a shame that wired charging wattages have reduced by 33 W to 27 W in the Redmi Pad Pro and Redmi Pad 2 Pro.
There is a comeback of the Redmi Smart Pen and an ancillary keyboard, which does not have an embedded trackpad. In the same vein, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro also has a single rear-facing camera as the Redmi Pad Pro did. According to recent leaks, Xiaomi will sell the Redmi Pad 2 Pro with and without 5G connectivity all running off the recent Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset by Qualcomm.
