The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 have made their official debut in China, and they’re expected to go on crowdfunding on March 26 at CNY 999, about $138. Compared to their predecessors, they’re said to be thinner, lighter, and sleeker.

According to Xiaomi the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 have received significant design improvements. The new frame design is thinner at its thickest part by 30% compared to earlier models. The updated glasses feel lighter to wear. The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses product weighs 27.6 grams and distributes weight more evenly according to its specifications. The design change means the nose receives less weight so users can use these smart glasses for extended periods without discomfort.
In addition, Xiaomi highlights the durability of the frame. It has what the company calls “piano steel ultra-flexible hinge,” which is said to be able to withstand over 15,000 bends without any issues. The frame of the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 also has an improved quick-release feature, allowing easy lens swapping (Zeiss lens care pack currently $13.55 on Amazon).
The company mentions that the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 now has a better sound system. The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses deliver better noise reduction and louder sound quality compared to earlier smart devices. The audio system features four microphones that work with smart technology.
The Mijia Smart Glasses 2 stands out because of its excellent battery performance. The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses device runs at standby mode for 12 days according to the product specifications and Xiaomi indicates that it delivers 12 hours of audio playback plus 9 hours of voice communication with a single charge. The device offers IP54 resistant protection and privacy mode alongside quick charging technology.
