The Vivo Y500 Pro has been officially unveiled in China. It’s a new mid-range phone with a starting price of around $253, and it’s touted to offer “flagship-grade” specs for an affordable price tag, such as a 200 MP camera on the back.

Vivo officially released the Y500 Pro in china after teasers. It was once known to be the flagship of the people, with the brand being billed as delivering flagship-quality specifications at a low cost.
Firstly in the design, the Vivo Y500 Pro has much in common with the flagship X300 rear-side with the round camera island. Naturally, the camera composition is different. The back camera of the new mid-range phone has the 200 MP Samsung HP5 with OIS, and this is accompanied by a depth sensor that has 2 MP.
On the front side, there is a 32 MP selfie camera on the affordable phone. It also features a 6.67-inch screen, which is an AMOLED display, and its resolution is 1260×2800 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate and 800 nits of brightness. The thickness of the bezel in this flat display is 1.37 mm.
The other notable feature of the Vivo Y500 Pro is the huge battery with the estimated capacity of 7,000 mAh (165 W Anker 25K power bank curr. $91.99 on Amazon). It is bigger than the battery of Vivo X300 and intriguingly it is also thinner, as the spec sheet states its thickness as 7.81 mm only.
The Vivo Y500 Pro features the Dimensity 7400 as an internal with a newly introduced, mid-range SoC. It has up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There are also other minor features such as 90 W fast charging, IP68/69 ingress rating, and an IR remote control sensor. The phone base model will cost CNY 1,799, which translates to approximately $253, whereas the high-end model of the phone will cost CNY 2,599, which is approximately $365.
