Vivo’s Y05 packs a 6.74-inch LCD screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a Unisoc T7225 SoC, and a large 6,500 mAh battery, despite its 8.39 mm thick body. It also has some features missing on most higher-end phones, such as a microSD card slot and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Vivo has also recently launched an entry level 4G smart phone. The Vivo Y05 has an IPS display of 6.74-inch resolution of 1, 600 720 (260 ppi). It has up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200nits peak brightness, and 83% NTSC colour space.
It is powered by a 12nm Unisoc T7225 chipset, and its cores, 2x Cortex A75 at 1.8GHz and 6x Cortex A55 at 1.8GHz are increased. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage capacity (which can be extended by microSD card up to 2TB). It uses a 6,500mAh battery, which can be charged at up to 15W and the software is based on Vivo OriginOS 6.0, on Android 16.
The back camera is an 8 megapixel sensor and has an f/2.0 lens. Interestingly, an IR blaster is contained within the second camera cutout which makes the phone a universal remote. It has also got a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Other features are an RGB notification light, 3.5 mm headphone jack, IP65 ingress protection, and a fingerprint sensor that is built into the side.
In certain countries like Malaysia, its Vivo Y05 is already on sale and sells at RM 399 (approximately 102 dollars).
In the US, another phone that is in the same price category and worth considering is Motorola Moto G Play.
