Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S26, the successor to last year’s Galaxy S25, during its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25. According to the European Union (EU), this new compact flagship promises over 35% longer battery life compared to its predecessor.
The Galaxy S26 will launch in the EU with Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chipset, replacing the Galaxy S25, which is currently available refurbished on Amazon for $414. A full specification sheet for the Galaxy S26 has already leaked, revealing key details about the device.
What to Expect from the Galaxy S26
The device will feature a 4,300 mAh battery, a 7.5% increase in capacity over the S25. It will retain the same camera hardware as its predecessor, all packed into a lightweight 167 g body with dimensions of 149 x 71.7 x 7.2 mm.
Interestingly, Samsung is continuing its regional chipset strategy. The Galaxy S26 will use the Exynos 2600 in Europe and South Korea, while other regions will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Battery Life and Longevity
Leaked EU energy labels suggest the Exynos 2600 variant will deliver significantly better battery performance, lasting 36% longer than the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S25. This improvement is partly due to the larger battery, but it comes with a trade-off.
While the device offers impressive battery life, its longevity may be reduced. The device is expected to retain 80% of its battery health after 1,200 charge cycles, compared to 2,000 cycles for the Galaxy S25.
