RedMagic has now opened the RedMagic Astra to a complete global launch. The RedMagic Astra is available starting at $699 and offers up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 165 Hz OLED screen.

RedMagic has launched a new premium Android tablet following a long pre-order period. The RedMagic Astra is actually the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro which was introduced more than two months ago. The RedMagic Astra is facing no direct alternative in the global market with the iPad mini 7 (curr. $699 on Amazon) arguably the closest alternative, but in China, the Redmi K Pad and the Legion Y700 Gen 4 are available as alternatives.
In summary, the RedMagic Astra is one of the very few tablets to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm flagship mobile processor until the release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 this September. In addition, RedMagic has equipped it with an 8,200 mAh battery, an 80 W wired charging and a 9.06-inch OLED display that is characterized by a 165 Hz refresh rate and a 2.4K native resolution.

Currently, the Astra starts at £439, €499 and $549 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Meanwhile, RedMagic charges £559, €649 and $699 for the tablet’s 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage variant. According to RedMagic’s website, these memory combinations should ship within a week of being ordered in Eclipse or Starfrost colourways. By contrast the most expensive, priced at £739, €849 and $899 with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage, is unlikely to begin shipping until early September.
