Xiaomi has released a new Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker in China, unveiled at a recent event in this country. Features include built-in storage, an integrated battery, app-based controls and support for NFC. Plus, this compact device is said to have an ultra-thin metal shell, available in six colorways.

Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker has been launched in China. This multi-colored miniature became known in the speech of the CEO of the brand, Lei Jun, which takes place every year. It can be used either indoors or outdoors and has an IP66 rating of dust and water resistance.
Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker has two full-range speakers and passive radiator, rated at 3W of output power. Two of the units can be connected to allow stereo audio, or up to ten speakers to provide an immersive audio experience.
It has physical control buttons, or you can remotely manage the device settings through the brand app, which is supported by the use of Bluetooth 5.4. Users also will be able to get over-the-air (OTA) updates through the app. It also supports NFC, HyperOS and 4GB of memory that should be capable of storing up to 750 songs locally.

Also, the Portable Bluetooth Speaker includes a built-in 1,980 mAh battery, which is expected to enable the speaker to last up to ten hours on charge, charged over USB-C. There are six colors on offer.
The color green is reportedly inspired by the SU7 and the obsidian (dark gray/black) is inspired by the SU7 Ultra. The remaining four colors include blue, pink, purple and titanium. It is reported to have an ultra-thin metal chassis, 154.0 x 56.0 x 25.4 mm (approximately 6.1 x 2.2 x 1.0 inches) and a weight of 249 g (approximately 8.8 oz).
The Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker is sold in China at CNY 299 (~$42). It is unclear whether or when this model might be launched in other regions such as Europe, in this case, the company already sells the older Sound Pocket in other countries such as Germany (currently, at €19.99 at Amazon).
