The MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M is a new 4K mini LED monitor with a native 160 Hz refresh rate and a 320 Hz mode at 1080p, along with advanced features like 1,152 dimming zones and 1,000 nits peak brightness. It’s now available for a fairly low price compared to recent OLEDs.

MSI has currently launched its latest mini LED gaming monitor, the MPG 274URDFW E16M in the US. This monitor was announced at CES back in the first half of this year and was already on sale in China since June. It can be purchased via Amazon at the relatively low cost of 499.99, which is relatively cheap next to the new OLED gaming monitors such as 240Hz MAG 272UP QD-OLED X24(currently sold at Amazon) at 799.99.
This monitor has mini LED backlighting which is the greatest attraction. It contains 1,152 zones which provide it with a very strict control on its local dimming which must give it a reduced blooming and halo effect around bright objects. It also increases the brightness to 1,000 nits which is sufficient to show a real HDR image. By the way, the monitor is DisplayHDR 1000 certified and 98 per cent of the DCI-P3 color gamut is covered.
Dual-mode refresh rate support is also the newest feature to be added to the MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M. It also supports 160 Hz with its native 4K resolution, but can also support 320 Hz with 1080p. The monitor is also reported to have a response time of 0.5 ms which is very impressive when considering a non-OLED panel.
Regarding ports, it has got dual HDNI 2.1 and 4K/120Hz console support, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C port supporting 98 W power delivery. It is also equipped with a headphone jack and two USB-A 2.0 ports. The monitor is designed in clean whiteness and black package with light of RGB and a completely adjustable stand. It has other characteristics such as a KVM switch and anti-glare coating.
MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M is currently sold in the US at a price of 499.99. It costs £426.06 in the UK, and at present, it costs Amazon 398.99.
