Minisforum has shared fresh insights into its upcoming N5 Max network-attached storage (NAS) device. The N5 Max will feature the powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU paired with a Radeon 8060S iGPU. Notably, it will support local deployment of large language models (LLMs) right out of the box.

The company first teased the N5 Max during CES 2026 in January, and has now provided more details via its global social media channels. While Minisforum already offers the N5 Pro (currently priced at $959 on Amazon), along with the N5 and N5 Air models powered by AMD Hawk Point APUs, the N5 Max takes a significant leap forward with AMD’s advanced Strix Halo architecture.
Unlike its predecessors, the N5 Max utilizes the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which boasts 16 Zen 5 CPU cores, 32 threads, and the Radeon 8060S iGPU. Interestingly, Minisforum opted for the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 despite AMD offering a more affordable Ryzen AI Max+ 392 to OEMs.
The N5 Max is designed with dual Ethernet ports and space for up to five disks, as confirmed by the latest product images. Additionally, it includes OpenClaw technology, enabling local LLM processing without relying on cloud services. The device will run MinisCloud OS, Minisforum’s proprietary operating system, which was previously detailed in the N5 Pro review.
While these features make the N5 Max a promising NAS solution, Minisforum has yet to announce its pricing or release date.
