iPhone 16 Pro users are reporting unresponsive touchscreens

This is because some customers who own the new iPhone 16 Pro model are experiencing issues with their display.

As reported by 9to5Mac, there are many reports from users who said that their new premium iPhone – be it the regular Pro or the Pro Max – isn’t registering every touch it ought to.

Of course, this is an issue for a phone that boasts an arguably near-monochromatic design and has very few buttons in the first place. To have this problem means that one will struggle to carry out simple operations on an iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max.

The best news of all is that it does appear that everyone is on the same page of what needs to be going on and what’s the solution.

At the moment the most popular hypothesis is that the issue originates in software, namely in the iOS, more particularly in the logic of the iPhones’ feature called ‘accidental touch,’ which is designed to prevent an accidental touch or swipe on the screen of an iPhone.

So, if you apply the very small bezels to this iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, it might just be possible to have part of your hand on the screen and unconsciously block taps and swipes on the rest of the screen.

9to5Mac also noted that it does not occur when the phone is locked, and is much more difficult to reproduce if the phone is enclosed in a case.

In other words, this is definitely most likely a software issue that can be corrected by Apple – you know, the people who designed the iPhone 16 Pro – and even before that you can prevent it, simply by using a case or just being a little more careful when poking the screen.
