Grand Seiko is adding two new watches to its Heritage Collection – the SBGX359 and SBGX361. These 33 mm quartz references are scheduled for continuous production beginning in April 2026. These models feature “Snowflake” and “Skyflake” dial textures and use the high-precision Caliber 9F51.
Grand Seiko has officially declared a new dimensional benchmark to its Heritage Collection, both with the SBGX359 and SBGX361. Both watches are constructed on a 33.0mm stainless-steel chassis which is just 9.1mm thick. They are the smallest and slimmer cases to ever house a 9 F quartz movement. The launch introduces the high-texture dials that are typically found in bigger Spring Drive models into a smaller package that would be a fantastic fit on smaller wrists.
Both sources operate on a new Caliber 9F51 that maintains an accuracy of one to ten seconds in one year. The movement is made on the 1993 9 F series, only the diameter of this movement is lower than that of the Caliber 9F61 by 0.6mm. It is due to that reduction that the 9.1mm case profile can be obtained without any performance loss. The Caliber 9F51 has a Twin-Pulse Control Motor to give high torque hand movement and a backlash-auto-adjust feature to ensure that the seconds hand is kept accurately in position.
The collection is designed with two distinct dial finishes in a nod to the Nagano landscape in which the watch factory is positioned. SBGX359 has a Snowflake textured dial, a white surface with silver-plated and clear-coated surface, and a tempered blue seconds hand. The SBGX361 has a dial of a Skyflake design that has a shade of pale blue and a snow pattern blown by wind. The two models are priced at 3,200 US dollars and have sapphire crystals.
International launch will commence in April 2026.
