Google is rolling out a fresh new visual for your headphone and earbud notifications battery status on Android. The updated notification shows color-coded rings around the icons for each earbud and the case, giving you a quick, at-a-glance update.

Google is changing how Android displays the battery life of your favorite headphones and earbuds, and the new design is much cleaner so you can easily know how much battery your audio devices have left.
Before this change, paired devices only displayed a battery symbol and percentage below each accessory icon. Today, Google has redesigned the layout to be easier to read and visually understandable as pointed out first by 9to5Google.
The new headphone battery and earbud notifications pop-up has Google Play services 25.30.31 and is applicable to all android devices.
Smarter method of verifying your charge
The battery pop-up will also change when the update arrives, with each earbud and the charging case having a color-coded ring around the icon and small symbols at the top of each circle. Pop open the case of your earbuds and you will have a clear visual indication of battery levels.
You have a small status icon above each circle such as a lightning bolt when charging and the battery percentage of left bud, case and right bud is right below it.
The case in this new update now has a battery-discharging icon and a green ring which is not filled completely indicating that it is charging the left and right earbuds. This information was not indicated in the previous notification.
According to 9 to 5 the compact notification of all the percentages in one line has not been changed. This design is aligned with the ring design of the Bluetooth Device details page that has been introduced in Android 15 QPR2 on Pixel.
