Samsung is reportedly preparing a fourth member of the Galaxy S27 series. The new Galaxy S27 Pro is rumored to slot between the Galaxy S27 Plus and the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
With four new Galaxy S27 smartphones, Samsung will have the same number of smartphones in their premier lineup as the Apple iPhone lineup.
Samsung is also reportedly planning to stir up its flagship smartphone line in 2027 with a new Galaxy S27. The Galaxy S27 Pro, as ETNews terms the phone, is a little brother that Samsung is developing to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. As such, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to share much, if not all, of the hardware of the Galaxy S27 Ultra except the S Pen.
The report asserts that Samsung is doing so in order to position the 2027 Galaxy S27 lineup even higher against the iPhones of Apple. As of today, there are four high-end models of iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy S27 series may include the following models:
- Galaxy S27
- Galaxy S27 Plus
- Galaxy S27 Pro
- Galaxy S27 Ultra
Although the screen size is not stated in the report, it is reasonable to assume that Samsung will be following in the footsteps of Apple and introduce the Galaxy S27 Pro as a small alternative to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Apple does this on the iPhone 17 Pro where the phone has the same hardware as the iPhone 17 Pro Max, such as the SOC, and the camera system, but a significantly smaller display.
Probably, many fans would wish Galaxy S27 Pro to be just the same size as the regular Galaxy S27 but with the hardware capabilities of the Galaxy S27 Ultra. It will not just be separating the Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27/S27 Plus but will also provide the people with a decent alternative to the Galaxy S27 Ultra without necessarily switching to other brands.
Unfortunately, the precise hardware specifications of the Galaxy S27 Pro are yet to be released. Other items such as camera system, the SoC, battery capacity remain a secret.
With that said, we have begun to hear some rumors about the hardware of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, such as the new ISOCELL HPA 200 MP primary camera and the Exynos 2700 SoC. Therefore, it is just a matter of time before hardware specifications of the Galaxy S27 Pro begin leaking.
