FiiO is launching the M33 R2R, a new player that fills the gap below its flagship M27 and makes audiophile R2R technology more affordable. Equipped with Android 13, a Snapdragon 680 processor and a powerful 1100 mW output, the player is expected to cost around $600.

FiiO is also adding to its line of R2R hardware by introducing another player, the M33 R2R, which bridges the gap between its flagship M27. R2R technology is one of the traditional types of digital-to-analog conversion in which the network of precise resistors takes the place of a contemporary standard DAC chip. Audiophiles believe that this architecture is especially natural and more analogue-like as music is made more vivid and coherent than many delta-sigma converters.
The core of the M33 is the 24-bit R2R resistor network of fully differentiated network that provides this sought after sound. In order to make the sound not only pleasant but also strong, FiiO has equipped it with a multi-stage TI amplifier with the delivery of at least 1100 mW per channel. It is also sufficient enough to drive not only delicate in-ear headphones but also power-intensive over-ear headphones.
The M33 is operated by solid technology which makes it easy to use. The Snapdragon 680 and 8 GB of RAM with the Android 13 ensures that there is no stuttering in streaming apps. It has an internal storage capacity of 128 GB that can be expanded through microSD and XMOS XU316 chip and the DAPS system ensure that jitter and noise are kept at bay. A 5.5-inch HD display is on board. To those with a sound card, there is a parametric 10-band EQ (with Auto EQ support) to allow adjusting the sound to the headphones in use.
The battery life is also stated by the manufacturer to be up to 14 hours, which is quite sufficient to use in daily life. Speaking of price, which is projected to be approximately 600/449, FiiO is also making the M33 R2R a choice to those who want to get the genuine R2R experience without spending four-figure amounts. It is hoped that, during the first quarter, the device will arrive in the market.
The FiiO Retro Box will also be a special highlight to nostalgics during the first quarter of 2026. This is a speaker which may be connected to the M33 as a source, and the display displays a digital cassette.
