Anker has a new smart door lock on offer, the eufy FamiLock E34. The model comes with a rather unusual method of biometric unlocking that is advertised as being able to work even with wet hands.

Anker is increasing its product line of smart door locks with Anker Eufy FamiLock E34. The model is available to order directly through the online store of Anker at the price of slightly less than 280 dollars.
Like any smart door lock, it supports biometric authentication. The technology employed by Anker is not quite novel in the case of door locks, but quite peculiar: vein scanner. This examines the blood vessels beneath the skin and it can be 99.99 percent accurate and recognized in 0.1 seconds.
According to Anker, photos or 3D models cannot manipulate this since it is very hard to reproduce the pattern of veins in a person. This scanner also has the ad that it can be used by wet or dirty fingers. In-built Wi-Fi implies that owners can operate the lock remotely using the eufy app, Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings through Matter
It can also be unlocked through the physical key, which is likely to be an emergency one, and the lock can also be unlocked through voice command, app or passcode. One can also customize the time after which the lock locks the door.

It has a large capacity 10,000mAh rechargeable lithium battery and has a runtime life of approximately 8 months. Besides, a built-in 750mAh backup battery that is not removable keeps the lock on even when the power goes off or when replacing the main battery.
Since this is a lock not a system, it must be inserted where the lock is. With that said, Anker claims that the eufy FamiLock E34 is easy to install; the device will fit the standard US and Canada doors without drilling anything.
