Apple has introduced two new chipsets already this year, the A18 and A18 Pro. This new chipsets are specifically made for the iPhone 16 and 16 plus for the purpose of providing support to the Apple Intelligence (AI) tasks and features.
the iPhone 16’s AI comes with a rigorous task which made it impossible for the A16 Bionic to handle and which led to the Introduction of the new chipsets.
As according to their names the Apple A18 Chipset, supports the iPhone 16 and 16 plus, while the Apple A18 Pro Chipset supports the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
The A18 Chipset:
Apple A18 chip contains a 6-core CPU with the same configuration. It offers a a 30% increase in performance over the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus’ A16 Bionic. And it also offers a 30% less power consumption to operate.
The A18 Pro Chipset:
Apple built its A18 Pro Chipset on a 3nm generation manufacturing process, which makes it better and more effective. It contains a 6-core CPU (two high performance cores for heavy tasks and four energy efficient cores). It provides a 15% increase in performance over the A17 Pro’s CPU, and it consumes 20% less power in operating, providing a balance between speed and energy efficiency.
Conclusion:
Both the A18 and A18 Pro Chipset provides notable increase in performance, such as AI processing and Power efficiency.
