Amazon has now listed the Nintendo Switch 2 in France for a surprisingly low price of €419. Both the standard Switch 2 and the Super Mario Kart bundle can be had for less than their original list prices, with another retailer also matching the new deal.
It has been a rough year to the console gamers. The increase in prices of PS5 and Xbox Series X has been experienced in various markets in both Sony and Microsoft due to tariff pressures. Nintendo Switch 2 is the only console that has managed to withstand the increases up to this point, and now customers can acquire it at an even lower price in what appears to be the new effort to increase sales and demand throughout the EU.
In France, the console is retailing at €419 at Amazon and Leclerc, approximately 20 less than its initial retail price at the outlets. Bizarrely, French retailers had already started selling the Switch 2 at a lower price than in other countries of the EU such as Germany, where launch prices have remained near the official price of €469.99 MSRP. There are also discounts on bundles such as Mario Kart World and Pokémon Legends ZA by cutting the prices of these items by €30, which means that they are no longer priced at 499 but at 469.

According to our earlier reports, the Switch 2 discounts do not seem to be a short term promotion but seem to be a permanent one at least as far as one of the most vocal leakers billbil-kun says so hence the pricing in Leclerc is here to remain. Interestingly, Nintendo themselves has not declared any official price reductions of switch 2 in Europe and still sells the console its initial price of 469.99 MSRP in the Nintendo France webshop. It is still not clear whether the price reductions will be spread over to other European markets or the US but it is pleasant to see the prices going in the right direction.
