Sony has shared its latest financial results for the three months ended on December 31, 2025, and the report shows that the PS5 has shipped over 90 million units worldwide.

Sony has released its most recent financial performance in the three months to December 31, 2025, and the document provides a clear insight into the performance of the PS5 across the globe. The console is still making strides towards a significant milestone as, though the shipment of hardware was slightly less than last year, it still increased.
The report indicates that Sony shipped 8 million PlayStation 5 units within the three-month frame. This has reduced by 1.5 million units compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. Nonetheless, such deliveries were sufficient to drive overall global PS5 units shipped of 92.2 million as of December 31, 2025.
There was also an improvement in software sales. Playstation 5 and Playstation 4 software sales totaled 97.2million units in the three months. It is an increment of 1.3 million units over the comparable period of last year. First-party titles constituted 13.2 million out of such sales, an increase of 1.6 million over a year. The Sony also announced that 76 percent of the total number of software sales in the quarter was a full-game digital download, a 2 percent improvement over the same period in the previous fiscal year.
As of December 31, 2025, the company also recorded 132 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network. The figure has increased by three million than it was last fiscal year.
