8BitDo has confirmed that it will be offering a new set of colourful Bluetooth wireless controllers soon. Also boasting translucent finishes, the Prototype Limited Editions will be sold worldwide, too.

Last month, 8BitDo eventually began delivering the Classic Grey edition of the 8BitDo 64 controller. The Classic Grey edition of November would be priced at five dollars higher than the Black or White models which would act as the launch colours of the dev 64 (curr. 39.99 on Amazon). At about the same time, 8BitDo had offered eight similarly-themed translucent shell 8BitDo Funtastic Limited Editions to accompany an analogous Analogue 3D refresh.
Concisely, the other Analogue 3D Funtastic Limited Editions that came along sold out instantly. Virtually two months later and it continues to have these Clear, Fire, Gold, Grape, Ice, Jungle, Smoke and Watermelon finishes available on its site. However, it has recently stated that it will release an additional five translucent 8BitDo 64 controllers next week.
The Prototype Limited Editions coincide with another drop of Analogue 3D and is allegedly the five colours that Nintendo planned to release on the original Nintendo 64. 8BitDo will start shipping the new finishes of Atomic Purple, Extreme Green, Ocean, Ghost and Glacier on 16:00 UTC on February 9, which will be sold through the 8BitDo Shop. The company has not yet confirmed prices or shipment dates. Nonetheless, we would anticipate that Prototype Limited Editions would be as expensive as Funtastic Limited Editions, which retail to $44.99 apiece.
