There hasn’t been a follow-up to Samsung’s original Galaxy SmartTag, which was released early in 2021 alongside the Galaxy S21 series. Maybe because smart tags are very basic devices that don’t require frequent updates. They simply work.
The second-generation SmartTag will reportedly be introduced later this year, most likely in August along with the two foldables, the Galaxy Buds3, and the Galaxy Watch6. Supposedly, Samsung has improved its original SmartTag.
Because there aren’t many other ways to improve a gadget like this, we might see the next generation tag with increased range, a more sophisticated beeper, longer battery life, and improved security. Or perhaps Samsung will surprise us because we overlooked something.
