Samsung Galaxy M22 Receives Android 12 update with One UI 4.1

As we’ve said before, Samsung has been pretty adept at releasing timely upgrades to huge new Android versions for its smartphones, but it’s not all roses-due to the sheer number of phones it releases each year, the process unavoidably takes many, many months.

The Galaxy M22, which was released in October 2021 (when Android 12 was already available), is only now making its way to the head of the line and gets its first taste of Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top. At the very least, it’ll get the most recent version of Samsung’s skin. That also comes with the April 2022 security patch, which is no longer current, but we’ll forgive it for such a low-end gadget.

Because of its low-cost components, the Galaxy M22 runs the Core version of One UI, which means that some of the functionality seen in higher-end handsets aren’t available here. We’re merely reminding you that it’s been the same since the beginning.

The build number for the Android 12 upgrade is M225FVXXU4BFD8 in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which are currently the only two countries where it is available. Hopefully, the new software will catch on quickly.
