Recently, the Redmi India Twitter account has been particularly active in promoting the new Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ devices. It was announced yesterday that both of them will debut on January 5 in India. Along with those two, an entry-level model was also introduced in China back in October.
We’re obviously referring to the Redmi Note 12, and it was not yet known if it will go from China to India with its brothers. There is good news: it will. Additionally, Redmi has developed a whole teaser microsite for its launch in India, which you can access here, even though it may not receive much attention on Twitter.
It concentrates on a few important features of the future gadget, the most important of which being 5G support. Another mention is made of the AMOLED display, along with a suggestion that it will be brighter than previous Redmi Note non-Pro models. Along with a triple rear camera system led by a 48 MP sensor and compatibility for 33W wired charging, a Snapdragon chipset is also hinted at. Did you realize that this will be the slimmest Redmi Note ever? Last but certainly not least.
However, Redmi Note 12 spoiler alert: it’s already official in China. Therefore, even though Redmi India claims to be announcing a completely new device, it appears that this time it will be the same model. If yes, we can provide you the rest of the specifications right now. Ready?
Let’s begin. With a 6.67″ 1080×2400 AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC, 4/6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, a 48 MP primary camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, an 8 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery, the Redmi Note 12 was first introduced in China. It is powered by MIUI 13 on top of Android 12.
