Infinix first introduced the Note 12i back in May in Kenya with the Helio G85 SoC and a 90Hz LCD. The Note 12i 2022, which has a new screen, look, and memory options, was unveiled by Infinix today.

The Note 12i 2022 has a 6.7″ HD+ 90Hz LCD, the Note 12i 2022 features a 6.7″ HD+ 90Hz LCD. It is safe to presume that the Note 12i 2022’s screen has a 60Hz refresh rate because Infinix doesn’t specify this information.

The Note 12i features 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, whilst the Note 12i 2022 has two options: 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. However, storage and virtual RAM expansion are supported by both devices.

At 7.8mm, the Infinix Note 12i 2022 is 0.5mm thinner than the Note 12i. It’s also lighter than the Note 12i (188g vs. 198g). Plus, the design of its camera island is also different. It has five circles on the back instead of four like the Note 12i – one for the flash and three for the cameras. The fifth one is just for symmetry.

However, the Note 12i 2022’s camera setup is the same as the Note 12i – you get a 50MP primary camera that’s joined by 2MP depth and QVGA units, and the selfie camera uses an 8MP sensor.

The Infinix Note 12i 2022 is 0.5mm slimmer than the Note 12i, at 7.8mm. Moreover, it is lighter than the Note 12i (188g vs. 198g). Additionally, its camera island has a unique design. Instead of four circles like the Note 12i, it has five circles on the back: one for the flash and three for the cameras. The reason for the fifth one is symmetry.

The Note 12i 2022’s camera system is identical to that of the Note 12i, though. You get a 50MP primary camera, along with 2MP depth and QVGA cameras, and an 8MP selfie camera.

The Helio G85 SoC, an Android 12-based operating system called XOS 10.6, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging round out the Infinix Note 12i 2022’s highlights. The smartphone also has dual speakers with DTS audio, a 6-layer 3D graphene cooling system, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. A USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack are also included.

The 6GB/128GB edition of the Infinix Note 12i 2022 retails for IDR2,299,000 ($150/€153), but it is only available in Indonesia through Lazada as part of the launch promotion for IDR2,199,000 ($144/€146). Both the cost and the availability of the 4GB/64GB smartphone in other areas are unknowns.
